Dear friends and family of the YWAM Idaho DTS team who write from the land of India;
Namaste in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
The team has now been in India for ten days and I believe are just now beginning to get a feel for living in another culture. The time we have been here has been spent becoming acquainted with the culture, discussing cultural differences, spiritual warfare, how to communicate with locals, and just trying to manage the railway system. We have so far stayed in Delhi, which is the capital of India, traveled to Mumbai for a few days and helped serve in the Red Light district with Peter Rai and his family’s ministries with YWAM, and have now been in Aurangabad for a few days now. We are currently staying in a hotel and commuting by auto rickshaw to join YWAM in their worship and prayer times and have been having good times to prepare something for these people here as well as the village people. We were honored last night to be able to see the graduation of many church planters here in YWAM who are being sent out to begin "rabbit churches" in other areas of India this week! It’s very exciting to see so many apostolic pastors being raised up ‘for such a time as this.’ Tonight a part of our group will be visiting a children’s home (which many of you have participated in supporting if you purchased an Indian calendar from me last year). The girls are very excited to work with the children here and just share Christ’s love with them! During our time here in Aurangabad we will be able to do many presentations, skits, stories, and share basic hygiene skills.
Please be praying for our eyes to continue to be lifted up to really where our help comes from!
Today in my devotional I was reminded of how my vision needs to be expanded daily to the vast heart God has for all people! He has a big heart and loves his people so so much. Luke 1:33 says ‘His kingdom shall never end…’ and a Marovian quote says it this way: ‘His kingdom shall have no frontier.’
Pray for health as some on our team are having common colds, team unity in vision daily, time to process with one another, one or our students to join us from the states and is hopefully going to arrive tomorrow to Mumbai, and financial support for three on the team.
Much Love from all of us;
Bethany Joy
